Memorial Day Weekend Fact Sheet: 15th Annual 5/10 Kilometer Races Start Date/Time May 30th, 2010 - 5K 7:30am / 10K 8:30AM Entry Fee: Pre Race Day - $20.00 - $25.00 on Race Day
THE RACES: The MCVET 5k/10k races are open, amateur races beginning and ending at the War Memorial Building near City Hall in Baltimore, Maryland. Both flat and relatively fast courses overlook the skyline of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. THE COURSES: USATF Certificate & Sanctioned course (5k - MD05008JS / 10k - MD05008JS). The 10k course starts 4.5 feet east of crosswalk at Holliday St. on Lexington St., making a right turn onto Fayette St., left turn onto St. Paul St. which becomes Light St., left turn onto Key Highway, right turn onto Lawrence St., and a left turn onto Fort Avenue until the turnaround located 150 feet before Fort McHenry. Follow Fort Avenue back to right turn onto Woodall Street and a left onto Key Highway back to a right turn onto Light Street leading north past the Inner Harbor where it becomes Calvert St. (at Pratt St.), continuing on Calvert St. and turn right onto Lexington St. and following Lexington St. to the FINISH (83 feet before Gay St.). The 5k course is identical to the 10k with a turnaround at Pier Side/Cross St. and return to the War Memorial Building. POST RACE ACTIVITIES: Awards ceremony (cash awards and age group awards-medals/trophies) immediately following each race. Random awards available. You must be present to win. Every runner receives a race T-shirt. Refreshments will be provided. This is an AMB Chip timing race provided by Charm City Run. Chips will be issued on race day. You cannot use a Champion Chip! PACKET PICKUP: Runners may pre-register, and pickup race packets at: Road Runner Sports, 6630-C Marie Curie Drive, Elkridge, MD 21075 on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, at Falls Road Running Store, 6247 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21209 on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, at Fleet Feet Sports, 1809 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21208 on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Charm City Run, 2045 York Road, 1st Floor, Timonium, MD 21093 on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Registration and packets will also be available on Race Day, 6:30am - 8:00 am at the Lexington street entrance, of the War Memorial building.
